To give you peace of mind in these crazy times Hoopla gives you lots of flexibility on all bookings.
If restrictions or lockdowns do come back your booking will be safe and will be moved to restart a bit later in the year once restrictions have eased, and you also will have the option to move to any other date at no extra charge. While waiting for a real-life booking to start you will also receive free online workshops. We did this for previous lockdowns and it worked really well.

What happens if there is another lockdown?
If there is another lockdown, or similar restrictions that prevent our real-life classes from running, then we will delay your booking to a later month. We will get in touch by email if this happens, and keep you regularly updated. When we have a restart dates for you we will let you know, and if you can't make them you will also be able to move to any other course at no extra charge. While you are waiting for your real-life course to start we will also be putting on free online workshops for you. This process is what we did last lockdown and it worked really well.
What happens if there is no lockdown but similar heavy restrictions in place?
After these kind of announcements it will take us around a day to work out if we can open or not. We will be regularly monitoring the news about restrictions and open as soon as we legally can. In the meantime we will be delaying the start of courses following the lockdown process above, and again providing free online training for you while you are waiting.
When will you make announcements about lockdowns or heavy restrictions?
We aim to email everyone directly the morning after any big government announcements about lockdowns or changing restrictions. We will also update our social media and this page.
What happens if a lockdown happens partway though a course?
If there are only 1 or 2 classes left we will finish the class online, unless it is not possible for you to do this. If there is more of the course left we will reschedule the remaining classes for a later date and give you free online drop-ins to do while waiting so you can keep practicing.
What happens if I can't make the rearranged dates if a course needs to be postponed?
You will be able to move your booking to any other course and date, at any point no matter how far in the future. You will also be able to move your booking to an online course. Basically whatever works for you, works for us. We’re very flexible.
Why would you postpone courses instead of just running them online?
We were originally thinking of having them automatically run as online courses, but we’ve found from the earlier lockdowns that not everyone wanted to do that especially after they were online all day at work too. Also not everyone is in a situation where they can do online. We also ran a few focus groups with existing students to find out what they preferred. They felt that while lockdowns cause a pause in real-life improv the reopening isn’t too far away and they would rather wait for that. So we’ve gone for this option to give the greatest benefit to all, with free online workshops in the meantime and the option to move to an online course if people wish.
What's your cancellation and refunds policy if I can no longer make a course?
As always we are very flexible. If you can't make a course just let us know on email ([email protected]) and we're happy to move your booking to a different course or give you a credit for future bookings. We'd appreciate it if you could do a transfer or credit. We just ask that you give us as much notice as possible, ideally at least a weeks notice.

Can I delay my booking even if there aren't any new restrictions or lockdowns?
Yes that's ok. We're always happy to be flexible and you can move your booking to any date, or even safe it for months from now. There's no time limit to how long you can postpone a booking. All we ask is that you give us as much notice as you can if you wish to postpone a booking. Please email [email protected] and we will process that for you.
Can I have a refund on a real-life course booked?
If possible we’d appreciate it if you could do a course transfer or credit if you can’t make it. You are able to transfer to any online course or any real-life course, or hold your booking as credit for the future. However if you are in financial difficulty or have moved away from London we’ll still be able to do refunds. Just let us know on email ([email protected]) and we will process that for you.
Will courses be running without social distancing measures in place?
From 19th July 2021 we removed the 1m+ social distancing but we still aren't doing any games that have physical contact. We can bring back 1m+ social distancing if needed and we are used to teaching with that in place and it is still really fun. Whether social distancing is in place or not will depend on the wider covid situation at any month.

Are you adding more online courses?
Yes. Especially if lockdowns or heavy restrictions come back there will be a lot more online courses added.
Will you continue to run online courses longer term?
Yes. They are going to be running side-by-side to our real-life courses forever more now, to give people from outside of London a chance to get involved with Hoopla.

The show will be cancelled and you will be automatically be refunded in full.
