Scene and Character Walkabout

Scene and Character Walkabout

Description

Everyone walks around the room.

The teacher asks them to stop and pair up with the closest person next to them. The teacher gives a suggestion of a type of character, emotion or location for a scene. Everyone plays that scene simultaneously with their partner.

After a minute or so the teacher asks everyone to say a big thanks to each other and continue walking around the room.

Again everyone stops and pairs up and a new suggestion is given. This is repeated for multiple scenes and characters.

Purpose

This is a great way to warm up everyone in to playing lots of scenes and characters at the start of a class.

It’s also a great way to get people into playing scenes for the first time as they are doing it without an audience to worry about.
