Improv in the park!

Fun and playful improv workshops outside in the fresh air.

These workshops will be following all government guidelines to be safe. They will be outside with very low class sizes, in line with Covid guidance at the time, and we will be ensuring a minimum 2 metre distance between people at all times.

But 2 metres doesn’t have to stop the fun!

In fact we will aim to make these workshops more fun than ever! We will be using the natural landscape, fresh air and increased space to inspire new games, scenes and exercises.

We will be playing with how you can you still have a strong social, emotional and playful connection with your scene partner even when performing at a distance from each other.

Every step of the way we will be working to make outside improv the most fun it can be. Explore entire fields and woods in character! Have a huge amount of space for physical play! Incorporate that tree into your scenework!

Is it possible to connect playfully, socially and emotionally across a distance? We think yes! And we think doing so will make you a better improviser in the long-term.

2 metres isn’t that far, and everyone loves a tree.

Parkprov is wheelchair accessible apart from the Wimbledon Common location (due to muddy off-road condition), please let us know after booking if you have accessibility requirements.

How to find us:

1. Book your preferred session and park above.

2. The day before the workshop we will email you a map with the exact meeting location, it will tend to be close to the nearest tube/train/bus stop to the park or convenient park entrance.

3. On the day you then meet the teacher and group at that location and then we all walk together to the parkprov spot!

4. If you are running late just call the teacher (their number will be in confirmation email we send the day before) and they can whatsapp you a live location tracker that shows you where they are in real-time.

Wet weather plans?

This is England so please wrap up warm and bring clothes for all weathers.

We will be attempting to improvise in most conditions but if it looks like heavy rain the workshop will be cancelled and you will be automatically refunded in full.

We will make this call the day before and again early morning before the workshop stops, so you’ll have plenty of notice of cancellation due to wet weather.

Low class sizes of currently just 6 people including teacher:

We could legally run workshops with lots more than 6 but it would feel weird with everyone in the park in groups of 6 or less, so we are keeping Parkprov at 6 for now. This number may increase as more covid restrictions gradually lift, but that will be clear at time of booking.

From the UK government website: “Businesses and venues following COVID-19 Secure guidelines can host larger groups (than 6). This is also the case for events in public outdoor spaces that are organised by businesses, charitable or political organisations, and public bodies, provided they take reasonable steps to mitigate the risk of transmission, in line with COVID-19 Secure guidance and including completion of a risk assessment.”

We have followed government guidance to make sure all of our classes and shows are covid-secure, while also working hard to make sure socially-distance improv is still fun, friendly and playful!
