Half Life
Description
One player has a timer, and the players do a scene for one minute, often from the suggestion of an actual well known movie. They then repeat the scene but in 30 seconds, and again in 5 seconds and then 1 second (or whatever time intervals work best for your group).
Teaching Purpose
- Mostly just for fun!
- Also good for character and spontaneity.
Show Introduction
“This is a game called Half Life. We’re going to improvise an entire movie in just 1 minute and then repeat that movie in increasingly shorter times. Please can we have a suggestion of a real movie to get us started?”
Origin
Don’t know, it seems to be a widely played short form game across the world.
Hoopla courses we play this game in
Mostly in our level 2 course as a show game and sometimes in our level 1 course for fun.
