Emotional Family

Emotional Family

Description

Four or five players enact a traditional family meeting (Christmas/Birthday/Sunday Lunch/TV after work) but all sharing the same emotion. Start some players off stage to allow them entrances and exits. The emotion of the family gets bigger and bigger as the scene goes on. Everything the family says and does is a chance to express that emotion.

Variation

You can also add an interloper who is someone arriving later in the scene at the front door with a different and contrasting emotion.

Purpose

  • Character.
  • Playing emotions on stage.
  • Letting emotions lead the scene.
