New object to talk

A fun exercise to help improvisers to explore their environment in scenes.

Start a scene from suggestion. Before a new line is said the improvisers must establish a new object in the scene either by miming, activity or mentioning it.

The teacher/director may have to remind them to put in the objects.

For instance:

Audience suggestion: Spaceship.

Improviser 1: [Pulls on a level] That’s it, the booster rockets have been jettisoned.

Improviser 2: [Shakes around, then grabs hold of a desk and looks at screen] Excellent work Chief Engineers, there’s no turning back now. Next stop Alpha Centauri.

Improviser 1: [Opens fridge, pulls out champagne and glasses] Champagne Captain? I thought it was worth celebrating.
