devise your own improv show
A brand new online course with Chris Mead!
Chris is teaching a brand new course on how to devise, develop, rehearse and produce your own improv show from scratch.
We’ll be looking at how to create exciting new ideas based on what you love, be that improvised sci-fi B-movies, improvised operas or the entire back catalogue of Nicholas Cage.
From the initial seed of an idea Chris will then help you choose the improv tools you need to get the show up and running. You’ll also be developing your own improv exercises as homework and then trying them out with the rest of the class as you work together on different show ideas.
Chris will be fostering a culture of practice and support as you work together to create exciting new improvised theatre. There will be homework, additional self-run online practices, socials, and additional check-in time with Chris. Together we’ll be building a team to try out your new show ideas.
Chris will also be working on the skills of producing a professional show including deciding company values, defining the show’s selling point, casting a show, how to run auditions, publicity and how to design a striking image and copy to sell a show.
Chris Mead performs in the award winning Maydays, sci-fi group Project2 and has recently co-founded Unmade Theatre, a company dedicated to improvisation as a theatrical art-form. He has also recently directed Tomes and with The Nursery Emotion Play, Neverfolk and The Long Weekend.
Designed for people with previous improv experience. If you haven’t got that it’s best to start with our beginners improv course first.
