Improv Courses, Improv Classes and Stand-Up Comedy Courses in London and around the UK. Improv Comedy Club at The Miller in London Bridge featuring various groups from across London’s vibrant improv scene, and additional improv shows and events produced by Hoopla.

Improv Comedy Courses

1. Beginners Improv Course 1. Beginners improv course

A 6 week course to learn the core skills of improvisation in a fun, friendly and supportive environment. You dont need any drama, acting, comedy or impro experience whatsoever.

2. performance improv course

An 8 week improv course to train improvisers to performance standard, with live show at our improv comedy club at the end, performing a mix of short-form games and scenes.

4. advanced improv course

A variety of advanced improv courses including Story, Improvised Plays, Long-Form Formats, Improvised Musicals, Harolds, Solo Improv, Improvised Poetry, Two Prov and Genres.

Stand-Up Comedy Courses

Stand up comedy course

8 week practical course, open to all levels, to learn how to write and perform stand up comedy.

With a showcase performance at the end, to a friendly audience at our comedy club.

Additional Improv Comedy Classes

In addition to our main 8 week improv courses we also offer shorter one day and one evening standalone workshops every Saturday daytime and Monday evening.

Hoopla are the founders of the UKs first ever improvised comedy club.

All of our shows are at The Miller, 96 Snowsfields Road, London Bridge, SE1 3SS.

London Improv Courses

Our classes are incredibly fun and enjoyable. We create a really safe, trusting, supportive and playful atmosphere and there is a lot of laughter in the room!

Our Beginners Improv Course is a 6 week course for beginners to learn the core skills of improvisation in a fun, friendly and supportive environment. You don’t need any drama, acting, comedy or impro experience whatsoever.

Our Performance Improv Course is an 8 week improv course to train improvisers to performance standard, with a showcase performance of short-form games and scenes at the end.

Our Long Form Improv Course is an 8 week course to introduce improvisers to long-form techniques and various long-form formats, with a showcase performance at the end.

Our Character Improv Class is an intense one day class on improvising comedic characters.

Improv Comedy Club and Improv Shows

In 2010 Hoopla founded the UK’s first ever improvised comedy club at The Miller in London Bridge, with at least two different improv groups performing every night.

Hoopla now run shows at The Miller every Friday and Saturday, featuring a selection of the best improvisation the UK has to offer, as recommended by Time Out, The Evening Standard, The Daily Telegraph and The Londonist.

Hoopla also run additional Launch Pad, Impro Jam and Improv Networking evenings at The Miller in London Bridge, to encourage new groups, new formats and new improvisers. Hoopla also have a number of Performing Opportunities.

3. Long-form improv course

An 8 week  course to learn the fundamentals of long-form improv, how to improvise a free-flowing multiple scene show, with a showcase long-form performance at the end.
