FAQ Q: How come this one is pre-bookable and the other ones are drop-Ins? A: So we can keep the class size low. Q: Why is the class size 12? A: So the class is small enough for everyone to have lots of stage time, but big enough so that there’s still an audience during exercises. Q: Who is this suitable for? A: All levels of stand-up, from brand new to experience pros, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been doing it for. As a lot of the exercises are solo we can adapt them to suit the needs of each performer. At the start we’ll also find out particular areas people want to work on. Q: Is Steve a stand-up? A: No, he’s an improviser. This is a workshop based on over six years experience of teaching improvisation being adapted and introduced to the stand-up world with a new point of view. It’s different from other stand-up courses. Q: Why is it only £20? A: All our one-day courses are £20, it’s just what we do. Q: Have you done this course before? A: Yes. It was previously called ‘solo improvisation’ and we’ve been doing it on a regular basis for a couple of years. The last couple of workshops attracted more stand-ups than usual so we thought we’d make it a specific workshop that was more focussed for stand-ups. Q: Will you be doing it again? A: Yes, there will probably be a couple per year, we don’t have any dates for the future ones yet though. There’s also the occasional Solo Impro workshop on our Saturday drop-in sessions, which will concentrate on solo scene-work and characters in a more theatrical style. >> BOOK SUNDAY 19TH FEB
